    1. 30 Jan 1835: Andrew Jackson survives an assassination attempt by Richard Lawrence when Lawrence misfires two pistols Jackson at the White House.
    2. 14 Apr 1865: Abraham Lincoln is shot in the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln dies at 7:22 the next morning.
    3. 2 Jul 1881: At 9:00 AM, James Garfield is shot by Charles Guiteau in a Washington DC railway station. Garfield dies three months later.
    4. 6 Sep 1901: William McKinley is shot while attending a reception at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo NY by 28-year old Leon Czolgosz. McKinley dies six days later.
    5. 7 Aug 1912: Theodore Roosevelt, running as a presidential candidate for the Progressive (Bull Moose) Party, is shot during a speech in Milwaukee. He completes the speech in spite of the wound and loss of blood. Roosevelt survives, making a full recovery.
    6. 11 Dec 1928: Police in Buenos Aires thwart an attempt on President-elect Herbert Hoover's life.
