Major League Baseball (MLB) divides itself into six divisions, the National League-East, National League-Central, National League-West and the American League-East, American League-Central, American League-West. This allows additional post-season games for division championships and introduces the wildcard (WC) team into the post-season. The wildcard team is the second place team in each league with the best record. It is now possible for the World Champion not to be its Division Champion.
